Starvation Spreads Across Sudan

A new report from war-torn Sudan says that more than 400,000 people are now starving in parts of the country amid escalating violence. Years of fighting between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have devastated farms, blocked humanitarian aid, and displaced millions.

In the northwestern region of Darfur, severe food shortages have reached famine levels in camps like Zamzam, home to roughly 400,000 internally displaced people. The ongoing conflict has crippled agricultural production and made it nearly impossible for aid agencies to reach those in need. Without a massive increase in food assistance and safe access for relief workers, starvation and disease will continue to claim thousands of lives.

The Missionaries of Africa continue to minister to displaced Sudanese across the region and along the South Sudan–Sudan border, offering both spiritual and humanitarian support in the midst of unimaginable hardship.
