Christian-Muslim Relations and Dialogue

More than a century and a half after its founding, the Missionaries of Africa remains particularly sensitive to the concerns of the Islamic world and interreligious dialogue, in Africa itself and throughout the world. In Africa, commitments of the Missionaries of Africa are lived out in the context of the local churches, and are, at the same time, marked by a distinct concern for primary evangelization and involvements in favor of justice and peace for the sake of the Gospel.

The U.S. Missionaries of Africa support local church efforts in Africa to live out interreligious dialogue. Most often these projects focus on bringing people together for discussions and activities. Sometimes projects are funded that will primarily serve members of other faiths.
