U.S. and African Bishops Call for Hope

The bishops of the United States and Africa and Madagascar have issued a joint statement, Brothers and Sisters in Hope, calling for deeper solidarity between the United States and Africa. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, they emphasize integral development, thoughtful partnership, and strong, lifesaving U.S. assistance that upholds human dignity. The bishops remind the faithful that the people of the United States and Africa are gifts to one another and urge all people of goodwill to strengthen bonds of fraternity and justice for the flourishing of communities across the African continent.
