Stanley Lubungo, M.Afr., Appointed to Vatican Dicastery
Father Stanley Lubungo, M.Afr., Superior General of the Missionaries of Africa, has been appointed by Pope Leo XIV as a member of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
A native of Zambia, Fr. Lubungo has led the Missionaries of Africa since 2016. His appointment to this Vatican office is a recognition of his leadership and the important contribution of missionary societies to the life of the Church today.
The Dicastery supports religious congregations and societies of apostolic life around the world. Fr. Lubungo is one of five new members from Africa, reflecting the continent’s growing voice in the global Church.
From our U.S. community, we extend our congratulations and prayers as Fr. Lubungo takes on this new responsibility in service to consecrated life.
